Benjamin is an intensive care and anesthesiology nurse and tries every day to save people whose lives hang by a thread. For him, part of his job in the intensive care unit is to accompany people through their dying process. Benjamin and his colleagues do everything they can to save the patients, but sometimes even that is not enough. Then it is often a matter of making dying as pleasant as possible for the patients in the intensive care unit, accompanying the relatives and deciding when to stop treatment. The 32-year-old was already trained in the topics of "death" and "end-of-life care" during his training. How Benjamin deals with the fate of his patients and what he thinks about death, he told Frank in the first film for our new series "What happens to us after death?" Why do we let animals suffer? Do we drink too much? Or: What does porn do to us? My team and I are interested in questions that have something directly to do with our lives, but also topics that are important to all of us and are often only discussed superficially. We look for answers to these questions, week after week - openly, honestly and independently. We don’t meet any experts, we are there: at the slaughterhouse, at the swinger party, while proselytizing in the pedestrian zone. And because we want to get to know as many perspectives as possible in our search, we always spend several weeks on a question. At the end of the day, we want to provide an answer, even if it’s not easy for us. With each video – but especially in the discussions with you – we get a little closer to answering the big, tricky questions.
