Integration by substitution In this math learning video, I (Susanne) explain integration by substitution. We calculate the integral of a function with root with new limits by substituting (applying the substitution rule). We replace the part that bothers us in the root function with a u and also replace the limits. This makes it easier to integrate (form the antiderivative) and at the end the back substitution is carried out.
