Further information, background information and options for purchasing a system can be found at: https://ökoponik.ch Ecoponics is a self-sustaining, self-contained water cycle. It works through the interaction of fish, aquatic life, plants, soil dwellers and microorganisms. Findings from years of developing ecoponic industrial plants and practical biology methods have been incorporated into our small system. This contains all of the complex mechanisms of the inhabitants and all of the necessary processes. At the same time, we were able to reduce the technological structure and maintenance effort to an absolute minimum. Our ecoponics system consists of a glass tank (60cm x 30cm x 30cm), an air lift pump and a light source. This is enough to provide all of the necessary functions that allow the ecosystem to thrive in the smallest of spaces. An aquatic ecosystem is enabled and driven by temperature, light and current. Our ecoponics system represents a section of the bank of a small stream that flows in one place. An efficient and low-maintenance air lift pump drives the flow that keeps the excreted solids moving and transports the nutrients to the roots. The glass tank has space for countless species to meet different wishes and needs. With this system, kitchen scraps can be easily recycled and transformed into fresh herbs for the kitchen.
