But they built a tiny house on a small, square parking lot that could barely fit four cars!? The owner of the house said that he didn't age 10 years while building the house, but lost 10 kg. However, they say that it's easier to build a house and live there than an apartment in Seoul. A couple who started their married life by applying for an apartment in Seoul. However, after continuously failing, they realized that applying for an apartment was like trying to catch a star in the sky. Apartment prices continued to rise. Even though they wanted to give up living in Seoul, they couldn't go to a faraway place because of their jobs. Then one day, the husband had a realization when his wife said, "Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a house?" He decided that if he couldn't live in an apartment, he would build his own house. A couple who came to the old city center to find their own land. The land that the couple chose, which had a small budget, could only fit four cars. To some, it was just a small and rough place, but to the couple, it was a land of opportunity. They had to save for eight years to afford the construction costs, but they did it last year because of the skyrocketing price of ash. The irregular land of about 82.6㎡ was an urgent task to overcome the limitations of the land. Since the narrow house had limitations in terms of floor space, they installed a skylight to secure a sense of vertical space. In addition, they separated the space without walls by making the height of the skylight and the height of the floor different for each space. The dead space created by the shape of the land was used as a pantry! In the sunken living room, the floor, sofa, stairs, and backrest become chairs. It was a structure that I could not have imagined if I had lived in an apartment. The husband, who wanted to design it in a fun way since he was already building, even built a hidden bathroom behind the bookshelf. Although he worked in interior design, this was his first time building his own house. It was built with a lightweight steel frame that can easily be modified to fit even one outlet location and has a short construction period. The husband said that he did most of the construction himself, from on-site supervision, to reduce labor costs. He quit his job and went to the construction site every single day for 6 months. Thanks to the long hours he put in from design to construction, he completed a 3-story house that is narrow but does not look narrow at all. The couple decided to build a house in Korea, which is still a republic of apartments. Now that they have discovered the charm of housing, they dream of building a few more houses in the future.
