About :

Dear motorists, hello to all! The information in the video is intended for all owners of new KIA - Hyundai cars (with petrol and diesel engines, hybrids, automatic transmission -6 - 8), all interested parties, service stations, official KIA - Hyundai dealers. In this video, we will show how to install an additional oil cooler for a KIA - Hyundai automatic transmission (original part number: 254603E900) and tell you how it works in practice. In order not to repeat information about the necessary parts for installing the radiator, see my previous post: https://www.drive2.ru/l/6157089204422... For those who are not aware, here is a similar job on my previous car 5 years ago: https://drive2.ru/l/509635460297917558/ I personally do similar work in Kyiv at the Premium Service service station with Vitaly Alexandrovich. The mechanics at this company have extensive experience installing such parts in various cars, and they have no questions about the quality of their work. We hope that after watching the video, you will be able to repeat such work yourself or at specialized service stations. I would also like to remind everyone that our official Hyundai dealers are ready to perform such work (we talked to Eden Auto), they are aware of the problem and can help install radiators (all work and materials are at your expense). Now the technical details and parts: 1. To install the radiator, you need to remove the bumper, everything is simple here and there are no difficulties or peculiarities, there are no disposable fasteners in the bumper and body. There are a lot of instructions and photos on disassembly on the Internet, disassembly begins with partial dismantling of the plastic side trims around the front fenders, you do not need to remove them completely. Everything is on clips and latches there, use plastic pullers for work. 2. Next, you need to make fasteners - corners for the radiator. We used ready-made construction corners made of steel with a galvanized coating 2.5 mm thick, but there can be any to suit your taste and wishes. 3. To attach the radiator to the bumper, you need to drill 2 holes in the upper end part of the metal amplifier and install riveted nuts - goujons. You can also attach the radiator to rivets, but this is less reliable. 4. The length of the supply and return hoses turned out to be about 2.5 meters, the hoses in a protective braid are perfectly hidden inside the cavity of the bumper amplifier, it is not visible in the photo, but there are stiffening ribs and free space inside the amplifier. 5. You can fix a pair of hoses on the front bumper amplifier with the help of another fastener - a corner, which is placed on the standard stud of the bumper amplifier and directed downwards. You can also tighten the hoses with clamps, but this is not our method and is not aesthetically pleasing!) 6. We painted all the fasteners black, and treated the bolts and nuts with Dinitrol anti-corrosion compound. 7. We also found paint abrasions on the amplifier from the plastic central guides of the bumper and glued a couple of pieces of soundproofing material to the contact points to protect against friction and corrosion. 8. After installing and connecting the radiator, our oil cooling system volume increased, so do not forget to add ATF SP-4 to the automatic transmission. We used almost 1 liter, it turned out that the cooling system increased by almost 1 liter. After that, we put the bumper back and use the automatic transmission, which is not afraid of 2-hour city traffic jams in 1st gear, trailers, heavy loads on the off-road, mountainous terrain and summer heat. Let me remind you that our radiator is located immediately after the outlet of the automatic transmission (red mark), then it is connected in series to the input of the standard heat exchanger. We got a sequential connection system, the first is an additional radiator, the second is a standard heat exchanger. We tested the new cooling system in different modes and are very pleased with the results. In 2-hour traffic jams, when driving in 1-2 gear, the oil in the automatic transmission no longer overheats (previously, it heated up to + 123 degrees, no more than + 95 degrees is needed), the automatic transmission works smoothly, the oil and clutches do not burn, there are no jolts or delays when shifting. The box shifts smoother and softer, and this is very noticeable in the city after long traffic jams. We view the engine and automatic transmission temperature in the car's on-board computer via a connection to the OBD connector or a computer at official dealers. You can also view the temperature using the free Car Scanner Pro program and an adapter for OBD ELM 327 Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Here is my on-board log on the D2, there is a lot of information and photos of temperature measurements: https://www.drive2.ru/r/hyundai/tucso... such measurements are also available from different people on Hyundai forums in the CIS. That's all for now, if you have any questions on the topic, write, we will answer everyone. Installation: Kiev, Premium Service STO, 21 Stepana Bendery St., mobile: +380 (93) 188 56 88 Vitaly. This is a STO of our friends and partners, tested over the years and with work of varying complexity.
