In this episode of our INION talk podcast, we met with a special guest - Ornella Koktová, entrepreneur, influencer and founder of the brands Pink Horse and BOOBEE. Ornella is not afraid to talk openly about the challenges of running a business and how she manages to combine her career with caring for three young children. "It's a massacre. When I'm in business, I see laundry baskets overflowing at home," he laughs. Nevertheless, she manages to be a successful entrepreneur and a caring mother thanks to her system and the support of her family. "My husband Pepa is my greatest mentor and teacher. He says to me: 'You want to be good? So it must hurt.' And he's really on my heels. I have to say that I do the most important things first thing in the morning. I'll start with whatever burns the most." Ornella has entrepreneurship in her blood - her great-grandfather already ran a fashion salon during the First Republic! Her first business venture is Pink Horse, a brand of equestrian clothing and accessories. The most popular products include the "ride, eat, sleep" collection, but you can also find cakes for horses in the e-shop. Also worth mentioning are the special clips on the horse's mane, which were used even by Olympic riders. "Seeing our products at the Longines Tour or in Monaco is an incredible feeling. After the birth of her third daughter, she suffered health complications that forced her back to the hospital. "It was really acute, in the end they had to operate on me, they cut me above the navel and left me there for 17 days with drips," he recalls of that dramatic time. Exhausted, high on morphine and delirious, she had a dream about breast-shaping tapes. "I called Pep and said, 'Now I had a dream about a business, and we're just going to see it through!'" Once she recovered a bit, she got to work and started looking for suppliers, solving certifications and researching materials. "I tested different products, but when I sweated a little, they fell off. So I thought I would create something that would really last," explains Ornella. "I'm actually my own guinea pig," he laughs. BOOBEE has already reached 24 countries, helping women wear bolder outfits with the confidence that everything will stay in place. What would she recommend to budding entrepreneurs? "When you choose something that you enjoy, you can handle even the most difficult moments. It sounds like a cliché, but it really has to be there," he says. She started herself without much capital and instead of personal profits, she invested everything back into the business, which helped her grow quickly. We must not forget her podcast Agáta a Ornella, which she records with Agáta Hanychová. "It's our free chat, like two friends over coffee. People listen to us because they are curious about our lives and often say they feel as if they are sitting at the table with us," Ornella describes. The podcast has many layers – from open conversations about their lives to guests who inspire and educate. "We've had lawyers, doctors, interesting personalities there, and we also help moms in need." In conclusion, Ornella has encouragement for all women: "Don't be afraid to follow your dreams, even if you have children. Having a baby doesn't mean you're tied to a stroller. Fulfill your dreams and believe in them!"
