We leave Kédougou to reach the Senegalese border post of Ségou, where the formalities are completed surprisingly quickly, in just 20 minutes. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, a good start for the rest of our journey. From Ségou, we take the same track as during our previous visit to the chimpanzees, a narrow and winding road that promises new challenges. The varied landscapes we cross are breathtaking, but the road is dotted with difficult passages, natural steps, and stony sections. We even have to reverse to let two trucks pass in the opposite direction, adding a dose of adrenaline to our adventure. After braving this demanding road, we arrive at the Guinean border of Gadalougué, where we begin the administrative procedures. Equipped with our visas, which we took care to obtain online, we pass through the controls without incident, despite a cursory search of our vehicle. There are two trails to reach Mali. We opt for the one that, although longer, is in better condition according to the Guinean authorities. As we pass through picturesque villages, we are amazed by the green landscapes and majestic mountains that announce the Fouta Djalon. The trail becomes increasingly difficult as we approach the mountain, but we take the time to examine each tricky passage before continuing. We finally arrive in Mali earlier than expected, despite some unforeseen events concerning our accommodation at the Indigo hostel. Forced to change our plans, we head to Labé, a four-hour drive away, but our enthusiasm for this mountainous region in northern Guinea remains intact. Mali, perched at an altitude of 1,401 meters, is a place full of history, surrounded by fascinating legends. After taking care of a few practical formalities, we set off to explore Mount Loura and the famous Lady of Mali. At 1,515 meters above sea level, this highest point of Fouta-Djalon offers us a breathtaking view of the region, a natural spectacle worthy of the efforts made to get there. https://voyageavecnous.com/labe-fouta... #tourdumonde #voyageenfamille #tourdumondeenfamille #raptor #drone #dji #voyageavecnous #travelyourself #vivreautrement #traveladdict #voyagerautrement #slowtravel #slowtravelling #paysage #4x4 #4x4life #4x4adventure #travelphotography #roadtrip #ontheroad #overland #overlander #overlanding #traveladdict #toutestpossible #allispossible #guinee #segou #GADALOUGUE #piste #PISTE4X4
