Today's ICE cab ride takes us from Berlin Südkreuz to Leipzig HBF. On the way we stop in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, at the Leipzig Trade Fair and of course at Leipzig Central Station. The ICE 4 - BR 412 is used as the vehicle, but today it takes an alternative route via Halle (Saale). The first section of the route is the Berlin-Halle railway line. It is a double-track, electrified main line in the states of Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt. It was originally built and operated by the Berlin-Anhalt Railway Company. In the Berlin area it is commonly known as the Anhalter Bahn. The route runs from Berlin via Jüterbog and Wittenberg to Halle (Saale). It is part of the Berlin-Palermo railway axis. In Berlin territory, the Berlin S-Bahn line known as the Anhalter suburban railway runs parallel to the long-distance railway. Immediately behind Halle (Saale) we continue towards Leipzig. This means we can also see the train station: Halle / Leipzig Airport, as well as the entrance to Leipzig via the new line: German Unity Transport Project No. 8.
