In the tenth episode entitled The Military Genius of the documentary-fiction series Tragom Karađorđ of the Educational and Scientific Program of the RTS, the victories and defeats of the Serbian army in 1809 and 1810 were shown. After the victorious battles in the spring of 1809, the Serbs established themselves on Čegra under the command of Stevan Sinđelić, who, due to the betrayal of other commanders, suffered one of the heaviest Serbian defeats on May 31, 1809. In that fight, Sinđelić blows up the entire trench with Turks and Serbs. The outcome of that battle was 4,000 dead Serbs and around 10,000 Turks. Out of revenge, the Turks in Niš built 952 Serbian skulls in the Ćele tower, which even today represent a unique monument in the world, about which the famous French travel writer Lamartine wrote with inspiration. Karađorđe, who besieged Novi Pazar due to the defeat at Čegra, goes to the aid of the threatened Deligrad, but suffers a defeat from the numerous Turkish forces. After the fall of Deligrad, the Turks conquer Ćuprija, Jagodina, Požarevac and the territories up to the Danube. Serbian insurgents with the help of the Russian army manage to recover all the previously liberated territories (Požarevac, Ćupriju and Deligrad) after those defeats. However, the Turks again attack the Serbs in the trenches on Jasica and Varvarinsko polje, but experience a complete defeat.
