The eleventh episode "Going to the Legend" of the documentary series "Trace of Karađorđe" of the RTS educational and scientific program is dedicated to the tragic end of the leader Karađorđe, the fate of his remains, works of art and the monumental legacy of this Serbian great. Karađorđe in Radovanjski lug on Dragić Vojkić Square on the day of St. Archangel Gabriel, July 13, 1817, according to the old calendar, was killed by his godfathers Prince Miloš and Duke Vujica Vulićević, by the hand of Nikola Novaković from Levč. Karadjordje's head was taken to see Marašla ali Pasha in Belgrade, and then displayed in front of Stambol Gate and buried near the Cathedral in Belgrade, and the body was buried in Rodovanjski Lug. After two years, in 1819, by order of Princess Ljubica, the body was transferred to his endowment church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Topola, and the head was also transferred to the same church in 1837, but to the grave of his daughter Poleksija. Only on September 9, 1930. , the head and body of leader Karađorđe were joined in the tomb of the church of St. George on Oplenac in Topola, the endowment of King Peter I and his son Aleksandar Karađorđević. As a sign of repentance, Vujica Vulićević built the Pokajnica church near Velika Plana, and Prince Miloš built the church of St. Archangel Gabriel in Vrbica (today Aranđelovac).
