Biržai Castle is a former residence of the Radziwills in the town of Biržai in northern Lithuania. The castle was built in 1586-1589 and is surrounded by a protective embankment and moats filled with water according to the system of Italian theorists of the Renaissance. The fortress belongs to the bastion or star type. We have already encountered such a system of defensive structures in the Dinaburg fortress. Currently, the castle, located in the embrace of the fortress, houses a local history museum.
