Together they discuss the possibilities for dance education in Corona times and in a one-and-a-half-meter society. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In '1.5 meter DANS' Jan Kooijman investigates the possibilities for the dance sector in a one-and-a-half-meter society. How can choreographers create if their dancers are not allowed to touch each other? And what does an artistic director of a theater do when only 100 people are allowed in a hall, instead of 900? In a series of interviews, actor, presenter and former dancer Jan Kooijman speaks with makers and performers in the cultural sector about the consequences of the announced one-and-a-half-meter society. Other interviewees include: dancer at SIA and The Backstreet Boys Floris Bosveld, artistic directors Conny Janssen (Conny Janssen Danst) and Alida Dors (Theater Rotterdam) Jan Kooijman about '1.5 meter DANS': “When I heard that everyone had to move to a new kind of normal and the one-and-a-half-meter society would be part of that, I could only wonder how you deal with that. Is something like that feasible? And what are the consequences for the cultural sector? As an actor and former dancer, I cannot imagine that you can come up with new work if you are never allowed to touch each other. How do companies, dancers and makers deal with this almost impossible task?
