Ephesians 4:2-3 NIV There is a line of Universal controversy regarding the style of music and the way of praising in the Church sometimes, between the traditional and the contemporary...you have the passionate sitting in the pew with his arms crossed who refuses to sing, because it is not his style and those who want to leave, because it is too much for them and think that it is not done in the Spirit or because it is not to their taste of the day. And on the other side you have the young people who do not understand the older ones, because for them that is worship! We are all missing the boat, because it has nothing to do with the style and genre of music. Worship in heaven will not be confined to a style of music. Obviously, we all have musical tastes and that is normal, but we cannot judge a worship team by their style, their clothing, their tattoos, their way of moving on a stage or because some have piercings. God will always be impressed by the heart of the worshiper. You will agree that many Ministries that seemed distinguished have fallen from a great height in the past. After more than 30 years of ministry, what impresses me is above all the attitude of heart with which praise to the Lord is brought. The attitude of the worship leader and the musicians outside and in the church. The relationship they have with God which includes the following ingredients: "Humility, gentleness and patience" This is what makes all the difference. What saddens me sometimes is to see talented people leave for the wrong reason or who become demanding in the way the department of a certain ministry is run. I was an associate pastor for almost 15 years and I did not always agree with the way people in authority did certain things, but I always remained respectful and I never grilled my pastor around a table. I was rather in protective mode of those who wanted to attack his ministry. This is also what worship is, I do not always agree, but I support, I protect and I pray for people in authority. So...in worship if you have difficulty with the style or the way the department is run in your church, focus rather on what pleases God and not on what pleases you. You may not like it, but God loves him, because He sees the heart and that is what impresses Him. I am 64 years old and I adapt very well to different styles of music.
