Conscientious objectors - that's what André and Kai used to be. Today, the fathers are training to become homeland defenders. As soon as Germany is in a state of emergency, homeland defenders support the regular units of the Bundeswehr within Germany. They protect critical infrastructure, secure military facilities, and provide disaster relief. The financial advisor and the engineer have been there for nine days - Kai and André are doing the training part-time. As homeland defenders, they are considered a link between the Bundeswehr and society.
