Peace comes from within, don't look for it outside. ————————— Monk Minh Niem's birth name is Le Quoc Trieu, born in 1975 in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province. From birth and growing up throughout his adolescence and adulthood, he mainly lived in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province and did not go anywhere else. In 1992, when he was 17 years old, right after graduating from high school, Zen master Thich Minh Niem officially became a monk to practice and study Mahayana Buddhism at Hue Nghiem Buddhist Academy (Ho Chi Minh City), taking the dharma name Minh Niem. Here, he received a lot of profound knowledge of Mahayana Buddhism, which helped him a lot on his journey of practice. However, not long after that, he received extremely sad news, when he heard that both his father and mother had passed away at the same time due to a traffic accident. Faced with the greatest pain and the most terrible loss in life, Zen Master Thich Minh Niem was completely broken and miserable. He realized that although he had gone through the process of self-cultivation and learning the Dharma, he had not yet truly entered the path of transformation and overcoming the pain. This was later repeated many times by him in the Dharma lectures he organized, so that Buddhists and monks and nuns could understand that the journey to overcome pain, first of all, one must truly face it. After he had faced the great pain of losing both his father and mother at the same time, Zen Master Thich Minh Niem decided to turn to meditation. He approached meditation right from the most basic lessons of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness by Zen Master Ajahn Chah. This was also the time when Zen Master Thich Minh Niem felt like he was reliving every day and beginning the process of true practice that he had never experienced before. ————————— #monkminhniem #monkminhniem #nothingness #nothingness #toainguyen #nuongmeoofbuddha
