In today's biblical readings, we read the following sentences about Hezekiah, one of the ancient kings of Israel. In those days, Hezekiah became sick to the point of death. The prophet Isaiah came to him and said: "Thus says the Lord: "Give an order for you, because you are going to die and will not live." Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord. "O Lord, I beg you, walk before you in truth and with a perfect heart and remember to do good in your sight" and Hezekiah wept with a great cry. The word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying: "Go, tell Hezekiah: Thus says the Lord God your father. I heard your prayer, I saw the tears in your eyes. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your days. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. (Isaiah 38:1:6)
