The first stage starts in Oberstdorf in the Oberallgäu near the southernmost point in Germany. We cycle parallel to the Iller to Sonthofen - the southernmost city in Germany. From there we continue to Immenstadt. From the residential town we make a detour to the beautiful Great Alpsee. The Great Alpsee is the largest natural lake in the Allgäu. The varied route lets us make another detour: we cycle to the Niedersonthofener See. It belongs to the Oberallgäu district. Here you can swim, fish, row and sail. At the end we cycle under the huge King Ludwig Bridge and reach our destination Kempten. The next day we cycle along the Iller and reach the spectacular Iller breakthrough. We also take a look at the historic Iller Bridge near Illerbeuren. The former railway bridge is now a listed building. On the second day, the Iller cycle path takes us past the Swabian Farm Museum. It is one of the oldest open-air museums in Germany. We reach Memmingen, our destination. Memmingen looks back on a long history that goes back to Roman times. The city is also known as the gateway to the Allgäu. We cycle the last stage of the Iller cycle path in the rain, but once again we are impressed by the idyllic landscape. One of the highlights is Wiblingen Monastery. It looms imposingly before us. We cycle along the long monastery wall. The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1093 and has a beautiful library in the Rococo style. At the end of the day we arrive in Ulm. The tower of Ulm Minster is the highest church tower in the world. The Minster is also the largest Protestant church in Germany.
