For once I'm talking about one of my other "Rino". ^^ Namely my old maid-of-all-works for almost 14 years Super5 Five from 1992 and its hard-wearing CLEON 1.1L 48hp engine! Following a recent restart after several months of inactivity, I noticed very difficult cold starts, and even if it disappeared once the engine was warm, the idle remained irregular with engine jerks during deceleration and a lack of power. Given that in the last 2 years I have changed many important elements for new ones (carburetor redone 2 years ago, change for new ones of the fuel pump, the coil then when restarting 1 month and a half ago, also new ones for the spark plug wires, the spark plugs and even the alternator), I suspected a problem remaining on the old original distributor. But before changing it, given the symptoms, I told myself that a bad timing of the ignition advance so important could be possible. Especially since during this recent restart, I removed the distributor to check it and clean it a little and I put it back at random while it is played to the millimeter, it sucks… So I started looking for tutorials on the Net about it. I found two of them, the links of which I give at the end of this message. One relatively complete but relating to the same CLEON of a Renault 4L therefore with a few small differences like a different distributor precisely compared to that of my Super5 Five. And a second less complete but on the same CLEON distributor included as that of my Super5 Five. So I started by making a mixture of the two. And that allowed me to solve the problem. :-) What a pleasure to have my handyman who restarts without forcing at 1/4 turn and who ensures on the road at the best of her engine without jolts and without fear of seeing it stall at idle. ^^ Now I just have to clean the little Super5 Five, in particular its engine compartment dusty and full of dead leaves from the trees under which it remained parked for a few months, to make it as clean as possible for the MOT which is coming and which I am certain it will pass without problems. So the tutorials on the Net are not useful? WRONG! If they are well done and as complete as possible at least. As I hope mine are that I have been sharing for more than 10 years on this channel in view of my experience and my work (see the playlist that I dedicate to them).
