Friday, August 7, 2015: Tour of Germany Day 8: Darmstadt - Stuttgart with parallel journey of 4 BR 01s on the Black Forest Railway. This day saw the highlight of the tour: the parallel journey on the Black Forest Railway. As it was in a very hot and dry month of August, it was not certain that the coal-fired engines would be able to operate until the morning. But it worked. However, the coal locomotives were stopped in Rottweil because forest fire level 5 was in effect further north. So the most famous German 01, the 01 1066 of the UEF, drove the train to its destination station in Stuttgart on its own. The video shows: a few minutes of footage of the 01 066, 01 150 and 01 202 taking on water and coaling in Hausach and of course several footage of the parallel journey and the further journey via Rottweil to Stuttgart.
