My favourite guitar is the Gibson L5 from 1970 that I have been lucky enough to enjoy for a few years. However, when travelling by plane, transporting such a large, delicate and prized guitar is not always easy. In search of a more practical alternative, but one that would not make me miss the L5 too much, I found this Yamaha AE12 from 1973. The result was MUCH better than I expected... it's almost worrying!
