Flour tortillas are a type of flatbread that is very popular in Mexico and other regions of Latin America. They are prepared from wheat flour, water, fat (such as lard or oil), and sometimes a little salt and baking powder. The dough is kneaded, divided into small balls, and stretched into thin discs that are cooked on a hot griddle or skillet.
