Dominoes are fun, but I don't really like them. I really like the detailed work. I like the process of building something up piece by piece, but I don't really like destroying it all. I like the presentation where you knock it down and it turns out to be a painting! I think it's a wonderful culture that incorporates artistry into a game where you just knock it down, but the negative feeling of transience, where something you've worked so hard to build up is destroyed in an instant, is more prominent. But even though I feel the same transience, I really like fireworks. They are the ultimate example of something that destroys everything you've built up in an instant. But for some reason I like them. Is it because they're beautiful? Is it because they're overwhelmingly beautiful? When you line up dominoes, you try to line them up as neatly as possible, but at least fireworks aren't beautiful before they go up. I think it's good that they've become beautiful.
