On a day off from a long business trip to Sapporo, I went to Asahikawa Zoo in the freezing cold to meet the lion Io-chan. A few years ago, I happened to stop by a zoo in Ehime and met Io-chan, who was just a newborn baby, and was overwhelmed by how cute she was.
