I stayed in a mountain hotel on the German side of the Ore Mountains, not far from the town of Oberwiesenthal, below the Fichtelberg peak. The hotel looks like something from a fairy tale, for a moment I think I am in the foothills of the Alps, but from the room I have a view of Klínovec. The price includes breakfast and wellness, which literally takes my breath away. I enjoy the outdoor hot tub. But at night comes the shock - almost zero noise reduction and I can't sleep. They say the breakfasts here are usually richer, but due to the fact that the Germans are protesting and on strike, the supply is not what it should be. Together we will go to the top of Fichtelberg, the smaller brother of the Czech Klínovec and eat in Oberwiesenthal, where a surprise awaits us.
