Officer Frank Marasco arrested Manuel Kano of the Kano drug cartel who killed three policemen and is to be executed in a few hours. But his father will do everything to save him. One evening someone calls the governor's wife. Her daughter is on the phone with her boyfriend. They have been kidnapped and the kidnappers demand that Manuel's execution be delayed for 72 hours, but the governor must have a big reason for that. However, in order to do this, the kidnappers kill the daughter's boyfriend. Frank thinks that nothing can possibly happen to him, he arrests various members of the cartel, or people who have something to do with it, and everything goes well with the police. One afternoon he goes to his daughter Vanessa's house and borrows his grandson Mario. They go to the playground together, but suddenly Frank sees someone assaulting a woman. He runs there, but then finds out it's just a set up. When they return to the field, Mario is not there. In a moment, the kidnappers call him. He is to appear at the bridge in the evening or they will kill him. When he gets there, they take him to a car where the leader of Kano's cartel, Manuela's father, is sitting. He wants Frank to sign that he previously perjured himself and that he really did kill the cops that Manuel killed back then. They then want Frank to sign a letter admitting to suicide. But he doesn't want to allow that, he jumps out of the car and finally runs away from the kidnappers. Devastated by her son's disappearance, Vanessa picks up drugs after being clean for a year and overdoses. The governor sent a paper to the police to arrest Frank. His colleague tries to do that, but she doesn't succeed. Frank goes home, but the kidnappers are waiting for him again. They're about to kill him, but since he's being followed by the police, he bursts in and starts shooting. Many police officers are dead, the kidnappers escape and Frank is arrested..
