Calcium is an immobile element in the plant, it has very complex, interesting functions related to the quality and productivity of crops. Functions of calcium: 1. Hormonal chemical messenger: Hormones are compounds that the plant produces and that in micromolar quantities are capable of producing a spectacular effect: that a seed germinates, that a plant is fertilized, that a flower forms, that a fruit forms, among others. Hormones give orders to the plant to carry out the different biological processes (produce roots, produce fruits, etc.) necessary, and CALCIUM is the messenger in charge of carrying the order to the different parts of the plant. 2. Root inducer: by controlling the levels of auxins in plants, thus improving the quantity and quality of crops, as well as strengthening their immune system. 3. Structural: it is one of those responsible for strengthening and hardening the cell wall, making it impenetrable to pests and diseases. 4. Fundamental in fertilization and fruit development. 5. Essential in the plant's respiration process! Calcium and Boron in terms of benefit: 1. Nutritional efficiency, more roots 2. Tissue hardness, health and quality of the harvest. 3.
