On the 27th, the Liberal Democratic Party group (37 members), the largest faction in the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, decided to allow voters to vote freely in the upcoming gubernatorial election following the loss of Governor Saito Motohiko (46) from his post. The group changed its mind about fielding its own candidate, but ultimately gave up after failing to find a suitable candidate.
