In Physics, hydrostatics relates to fluids, that is, everything that can flow: liquids and also gases. Hydrostatics means the study of fluids in equilibrium. Two basic quantities in hydrostatics are density and pressure. Density is a relationship between mass and volume. The density formula is the mass divided by the total volume of a body, that is, density and volume are inversely proportional quantities. Everything that has high density, that is, is very dense, generally descends. On the other hand, that which has low density generally rises, floats, like a balloon. The density of water is 1kg/L, that is, one liter of water weighs 1 kilogram. In turn, pressure is the relationship between force and area, so the formula for pressure is force divided by area.
