The Pharisee takes pride in his achievements and compares himself to others, living a false spirituality based on perfectionism and legalism. Humility, on the other hand, allows us to recognize our weaknesses and depend on the saving power of God. It connects us with God's grace and frees us from the guilt and frustration that pride can generate. This sermon suggests some ways to live humility, such as admiring it, observing humble people, acting with humility, being open to constructive criticism and stopping worrying about demonstrating it, since true humility is not centered on oneself.
