The historic flood caused the collapse of Quang Duc gate in 1953, in 1999 a great flood flooded the capital, in 2020 the East-West wing collapsed due to a big storm... After 2 centuries and hundreds of big and small storms, amidst the fluctuations of harsh weather, how can the ancient capital relic complex survive for hundreds of years? The answer was found 200 years ago, when King Gia Long built the capital and created a structure that adapted to nature. In the year of adjusting the old Kim Long river tributary into a new river shaped like a carpenter's ruler, the Ngu Ha river. Many rivers and 40 large and small lakes were dug under the Nguyen dynasty, showing the ability to control water of our ancestors. After 3 years of restoration, Thai Hoa palace has now returned to its most glorious appearance during the prosperous reign of the Nguyen dynasty. The place witnessed the coronation of 13 Nguyen Dynasty kings, where the Emperor held grand court ceremonies twice a month to handle state affairs or organize the most important court ceremonies such as coronation ceremonies, longevity celebrations, and receptions of diplomatic envoys. The documentary film TIMESTAMPS IN THE IMPERIAL CITY is a story about heritage conservation against the impact of climate change in Hue.
