On December 28th, 2024, I was on the Brocken again with the traditional train. It was a beautiful day. Shortly before departure, there was an argument when passengers who no longer fit in the scheduled train had to board our train. The conductor had previously said that people were ONLY allowed to stand outside and not go into the carriage. The passengers ignored this and thought they could go into the carriage until someone with a special ticket had had enough and pushed someone outside. Later, the conductor came and sent everyone outside. You think it can't get any dumber than that, but then the next problem came right after that. People were standing on the tracks at Goetheweg and only left the track bed after a special whistle from the train driver. If someone had fallen there while leaving the track bed quickly, the hearse would have had to come. Back to the topic of the traditional train. The locomotive was 99 236 and there were no carriages with DR lettering on the traditional train.
