How on earth was the longest railway tunnel (in today's Poland) built 150 years ago? What methods were used and what obstacles were encountered? Would we be able to build it better, faster and cheaper today? We will try to find answers to these and other questions related to the Tunnel under Mały Wołowiec between Wałbrzych and Jedlina-Zdrój. In the background, there is also the construction of railway line 286 from Wałbrzych to Kłodzko, as part of the Silesian Mountain Railway. The film uses many sources. The source of knowledge about construction methods were numerous archival articles and a book by Dr. P. Dominas Railway Tunnels in Poland. Archival materials from publicly available German and US archives. Special thanks to @tuitamwobiektywie Marcin for the opportunity to use a fragment of his flight over the construction of the tunnel near Kamienna Góra. Thanks to @tomdublin8701 @Z_N_A_K_I @radekkiki and I hope that Kuba @paleostone will add a few sentences about the rocks that the old builders had to deal with. Greetings to the favorite driver of the KD vehicles seen in the film @mojdzienwkade :) #tunnel #riese #wałbrzych
