Timur Bakhtiar was one of the most famous military men of the Pahlavi court. He is the founder and first head of SAVAK. Bakhtiar, who had gained a lot of power after the coup of 19 Mordad 1953 and had practically become the second person in the country, was suspected by the Shah and dismissed. He was trying to overthrow Mohammad Reza Shah and take power in his place. Bakhtiar went to Iraq to overthrow the Shah's government and received help from the country's government.
