Usually, captured Ukrainian civilians are accused of extremism and espionage. After detention, the women are raped, humiliated, tortured and forced to dig trenches for the Russian army. The heroines of Ekaterina Fomina's film are Ukrainian women who managed to escape from captivity, and the daughter of an elderly woman who has been held behind bars for seven years.
