Sometimes wood filler and varnish are not the best option for our wood. Today we are going to show you another way to treat and finish our creations or even wooden furniture, and that is oil. We have several types of oil, such as linseed (or linen) oil or Tung oil. Oil has a number of advantages for those places where our wood is going to be exposed to humidity or sudden changes in temperature. But it also has the following properties: -It lets the wood breathe -It repels water and does not let the wood get damp -It prevents the formation of mold, fungi or bacteria -It highlights the grain In addition, Tung Oil is food grade, so it is safe for our countertops or cutting boards (EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALLERGIC OR INTOLERANT), and it does not go rancid as occurs with other vegetable oils such as corn oil or olive oil.
