TRAVELING... HOW TO GET A JOB ABROAD: • How I GET A WORK FREEGANISM: • EATING FOR FREE ANYWHERE I've been traveling a lot in the last 2 years of my life. I've always been a backpacker, alone, around the world. I've been to almost every country in South America and a bit of Europe. I've hitchhiked, taken the bus, and cycled. I've slept on the street, slept at other people's houses, traded work for accommodation. I've eaten on the road, cooked my own food, and eaten leftover food. To travel, you need 4 basic things: Food, accommodation, transportation, entertainment. These are the most basic things, and from there, you can do the rest. But I'm also going to include money in the basic things. I know it's not necessary, but it's always good to have it, because it helps with unexpected events and makes everything simpler. I'll start with transportation. When you travel, you want to get from point A to point B. But when you backpack, you don't just visit point B. You go to several places. So if you're going to pay for this transportation, it's going to end up being a little expensive. But there are ways to go cheaper, or without paying anything. Plane, bus... But, the way to travel that I have used the most so far, the most efficient, the one that has given me the most experience and friendships, and that has been free. You can hitchhike. But the bad thing about hitchhiking is that sometimes you have to walk a lot to find a good place to hitchhike, and the ride can take a long time sometimes. But... The good thing about hitchhiking... It's free, you'll make friends along the way, with someone who lives there, and sometimes you get free food and accommodation too. For me, this is the best way to get around, if possible, hitchhike. And for you who are women, I'll leave in the description of this video the link to some women who have hitchhiked too. NOW ON TO ACCOMMODATION Couchsurfing, work in exchange for accommodation... Another thing is to go to a hostel and ask if they need volunteers. I arrived in Cusco at 6 am and went around the entire city looking for volunteer work, and by the end of the day I found one. Sleeping on the street. I've slept in gas stations, abandoned houses, next to a cemetery, houses under construction... In any city you visit, any city, you'll easily find a hidden place to spend the night. FOOD. When you travel and interact with people, food comes automatically. When I went on that backpacking trip spending 1 euro a day, I didn't ask anyone for food, and the food came automatically through the people I interacted with. Link to the 1 euro a day backpacking trip in the description... But, I'm here to teach you more than that. How to get free food... Do you know how much food is wasted out there? Restaurants throw away a lot of food. And there's a way for you to get this food for yourself, for free. Go to the restaurant before it closes and ask if they can give you some leftover food in exchange for some work you do. Offer to wash dishes, clean the floor, anything. I did this on many backpacking trips in South America, and they always gave me food and I never had to do anything. They would give me a lunchbox full of food and say they didn't need any help. Well, thanks. That's the international method. But there are other methods too. Here in Europe, I've already taken food from the trash. Yes, here you can find sealed food, close to its expiration date, in the trash cans of supermarkets. You just have to open the trash can and take it, the food is sealed. There's also freeganism, which I taught you in one of those videos, Link in the description. Go to the food court of a shopping mall and take the leftover food from other people. But all these techniques are to get free food. If you have money and want to save money, just buy it at the supermarket. There's a lot of cheap food at the supermarket. FUN My trip is made up of people, not places. So I find fun in hanging out with random people I meet. I've done all sorts of crazy things, like sleeping in a millionaire's house in the middle of the desert, crossing London listening to loud music and dancing in the street, going to Machu Picchu with a woman I met at a random party... People are my fun, that's why I travel. This video must have been really useful for your backpacking trip, so give me a like so I can know, and subscribe to the channel. This helps me a lot to know if you're enjoying the content or not, write in the comments what you thought too. Thanks.
