How to Start an Adventure with the Gorce Mountains?MACIEJOWA from Rabka Zdrój - PTTK Mountain Shelter Na Maciejowej. In the film you will find a report from a hiking trip from Rabka Zdrój to the Maciejowa Mountain in the Gorce Mountains. In our opinion, this is a great idea for both a short, winter trip to the mountains and the first steps in the Gorce Mountains. The entire trip today follows the GSB (Main Beskid Trail). The level of difficulty of today's route is very low, so this hike is a good idea for a trip to the mountains with a child or people with a slightly weaker condition. However, it must be remembered that in winter the conditions on the trail will be much more difficult than in spring or summer. The Gorce Mountains are a range in the Western Beskids, which has an area of 550 km2 and is about 33 km long. The views during the trip that we have prepared for you today are simply fantastic. Even though the peak of Maciejowa itself is forested, on the trail you will find several places with a view of Babia Góra, Luboń Wielki, the Beskid Makowski Range, Beskid Wyspowy, and the crowning glory of the trip will be the opportunity to feast your eyes on the Tatras. As I mentioned, the peak itself is forested, which is why we suggested that you walk to the Mountain Shelter on Maciejowa (about 10 minutes from the peak). It is located on the Przysłop clearing and the peak of the same name, so the name of the shepherd's hut is a bit misleading :) It is from this clearing that, in good conditions, we have an amazing view of the Tatras, and in the shelter kitchen, warm food awaits us.
