Rather than cutting the logs into 33cm logs before loading them to bring them home, I prefer to keep them in one-metre lengths and split them in the forest. One-metre logs are easier to store for drying, and in the end it means much less handling because the logs are split on the ground, you only have to bend down once at the end, to pick up the split wood. The manual technique, with a maul, often requires less effort than using a vertical hydraulic log splitter, which requires straightening the logs and bringing them to the tractor. And with experience, it also goes faster.
