How do I set up a 4-channel power amplifier? Frequency transition / subsonic filter / gain control so that there is no frequency gap? Addition to setting up: https://videos.ars24.com/video/6-schr... I'll try to explain to you theoretically how you can optimally set up your amplifier so that you get the best possible sound experience! 1:35 An amplifier is connected to the RCA outputs of the car radio. High-quality car radios have a front output, a rear output and a subwoofer output. The level of all channels can be adjusted separately. 2;40 In our example, with a 4-channel power amplifier, a front system and a subwoofer are operated and the rear RCA outputs are not used by the car radio and remain empty. The RCA front output is connected to channels 1 and 2 on the power amplifier and the subwoofer operates on channels 3 and 4. 4:33 Let's start by setting up the front speakers: frequency filter on. As a basic setting, it is recommended that you activate a high-pass filter at around 80 Hz for a 16 cm front system, for example, in order to switch on the deepest bass (which the subwoofer produces anyway). Now it's time for the gain control: To do this, first turn the gain control all the way to the left (i.e. all the way to 0). Now turn up your radio so that it is almost at maximum. So that you can adjust the front system optimally, you should ensure that neither the rear system nor the subwoofer is running at the same time (it is best to disconnect them). The sound may already be at maximum listening volume. But as a rule, you should now start to turn up the gain control very carefully, and then decide for yourself at some point that the volume is sufficient for you. You also definitely shouldn't hear any distortion. In that case, it's better to turn it back a bit. Be sure to use a good song from an original CD as the adjustment music, and definitely not a poor quality MP3 song. 1:35 Now you can reconnect the subwoofer and set the subwoofer gain all the way to the left. Activate the lowpass filter at around 80 Hz. If your power amplifier has a subsonic filter 15:35, activate this and set it at around 30 Hz. This is a frequency that your ears can no longer hear below 25 Hz. So, the front system is already set and should definitely run when you set the subwoofer, just as you set it at maximum level. Only now do you slowly start to turn up the gain control for the subwoofer. Little by little, listen to how intensively you want the woofer to be in addition to the front system. As soon as you hear that the woofer also sounds bad, turn the gain back a little. You can play around with the subsonic a bit to see if you can go a bit higher with the frequency without noticing an audible difference. You can also try out the lowpass filter to see how far up you can set it (e.g. 90 Hz or 100 Hz) without the subwoofer sounding boomy. If you turn the filter down further (70 Hz or 60 Hz) the less boomy it will sound. Try it yourself and listen to it, you'll immediately see what I mean. If you have rear speakers, you should set the rear speakers after the front speakers and before the subwoofer. To start with, you can turn the radio up to about 3/4 volume and start with that. In any case, it is important that the radio is turned up as high as possible and the power amplifier is turned up as low as possible. The rule for everything is: always approach the maximum level carefully and don't turn it up all the way straight away. Have fun!
