In this video I show you how to change the timing belt in the N42B20, N42B18, N46B20 engine. The replacement in the N45 is almost identical. If you have ever been interested in what the whole process looks like, this episode should be perfect. If you want to do it yourself, in addition to basic tools, you will need a set of locks and a torque wrench. In general, the whole process is not very complicated and without recording, such a replacement is a matter of a few hours. If you have any questions, please visit Insta, where I will try to help or leave a comment. It is also worth mentioning that a broken timing belt in the n42/n46 engines is not a tragedy. These are non-interference engines, so breaking the timing belt is a matter of throwing in a new one and very often cleaning the oil pan. How do I know? I bought a car with a broken timing belt and after the replacement it started and worked without a problem.
