About :

An experiment with super-dense cultivation of dwarf cashew trees managed to obtain, in two years of implementation, three times the average productivity achieved by the variety in the state of Ceará in 2019. The researchers expect to reach a productivity of at least three tons of nuts and 27 tons of peduncles per hectare/year in the fifth year of implementation of the study, when the plants stabilize their production. The research is conducted by Embrapa Agroindústria Tropical (CE), the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labor of the State of Ceará (Sedet) and Fazenda Frutacor, in the Tabuleiro de Russas Irrigation District – 160 km from Fortaleza (CE). In this live, we will present the first results of the experiment with the general head of Embrapa Agroindústria Tropical, Lucas Leite, the executive secretary of Agribusiness at the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labor (Sedet), Sílvio Carlos Ribeiro Vieira Lima, the owner of the company Frutacor, João Teixeira, and the researcher Afrânio Montenegro, from Embrapa Agroindústria Tropical.
