We will consider how to correctly measure the capacity of any battery without having a special measuring device. This first part is devoted to theoretical provisions regarding the energy and capacity of the battery, as well as methods for measuring it based on average current and voltage values. The peculiarity of the battery is that it generates energy during operation - chemical reactions. A capacitor is different in that it accumulates charges and then returns them during the discharge process, without chemical reactions. We will focus mainly on lithium-ion batteries of the 18650 type, as the most common in recent times. When measuring the capacity of the battery, you first need to charge it to the maximum permissible voltage, and then discharge it with a given current value until the battery is completely discharged - to its minimum permissible voltage.
