What is the use of mathematics in life? An eternal question that has been eating away at children who are beginning to learn it for generations. Lack of concrete applications, complex language, a notation system that could be improved, many of us have become demotivated when faced with mathematical adversity. But why so much hostility? Jean-Baptiste Huynh has competed in ingenuity to reinvent the teaching of the subject. As a former teacher, Jean-Baptiste Huynh knows from experience that traditional education does not work with all children. He is now CEO and co-founder of DragonBox, where he leads a team of educational designers. Their method consists of mixing video games and narration to transform subjects such as mathematics into motivating and fun experiences. Jean-Baptiste is currently leading the experimentation of a complete mathematics solution with 1,200 children from CP and CE1 classes in Finland, Norway and France.
