About :

A floor covering for the kitchen is needed. It should look like wood and feel warm. But it must also be robust and water-resistant. This means that tiles, parquet and laminate are out of the question. So what is left: click vinyl! So, let's go! If there is an old floor covering, it has to be removed first. Once tiles have been laid, they must be levelled with a levelling compound. Once everything is out, the surface is vacuumed and level, the screed is dry and the material has been obtained, then you can start laying it. Our impact sound insulation conveniently includes the vapor barrier. This combination product is simply rolled out and the joints are connected with the appropriate aluminum adhesive tape. Once the entire area has been laid, you can start laying the click vinyl. It is best to do this in a random pattern - this looks attractive and creates the least amount of waste. To do this, simply use the remaining piece at the end of a row of panels as the starting piece of the next row. As long as it reaches the minimum size - in our case 30 cm. Click vinyl is laid floating - that is, the panels are not fixed to the floor, but rather laid out in the room with a gap of around 10 mm from the wall. This means that the entire assembly can move a little at the end to compensate for temperature fluctuations. Connecting the panels is easy. The tongue of one board is swung into the groove of the other and then pressed firmly. If the pressure of your hands is not quite enough, you can also carefully work it over with a rubber hammer. To shorten the click vinyl panels, all you have to do is scratch them with a cutter and then break them. Notches are made with a hand saw or jigsaw. The nice thing about laying vinyl is that you can quickly see the progress. Once you have found the laying rhythm, everything goes quickly. And then, once the last panel has been laid, suitable skirting boards are glued, screwed or clipped to the wall, transition and end strips are attached and, if necessary, the shadow gaps at the top of the skirting boards are sealed with acrylic. What it all looks like in detail, how small and large challenges are overcome when laying click vinyl - our two BAUHAUS workshoppers Katharina and Liam will show you step by step. 00:00 - Intro 01:06 - Material and tools 01:46 - Check the surface for unevenness 02:04 - Measure and calculate material requirements 03:10 - Choose floor covering 04:03 - Clean the room 05:08 - Lay out the insulation underlay and vapor barrier 07:47 - Lay click vinyl 08:12 - Installation instructions and tips 09:44 - Cut out heating pipes 21:15 - Attach skirting boards 22:09 - Attach skirting board clips 23:03 - Transition strips 24:59 - Acrylic joint ????
