For this update we decided to use cameras with IP technology. This type of camera allows us to use an existing network, which makes installation much easier. Another detail is that this type of camera has a very high resolution and also prevents loss in image transmission. In addition, image management can be done either by an NVR device, by computer or even in the cloud. NVR is the abbreviation for Network Video Recorder, and the difference between NVR and DVR is the way they capture and process images. DVRs capture images using analog cameras and transport these images via coaxial cable, leaving the job of converting images into computer data to the recorder. NVRs use digital cameras that capture, encode, and process videos directly in data format before transmitting them to the storage system. Got it up to here, guys? So, now that we understand a little bit of the theory of the system, let's move on to the practical part! First, let's replace the external cameras. We chose the Bullet IP Camera, model IP-H022-B11 from WEG because it has Full HD resolution, is IP66 rated, and can be powered by 12 Vdc via a power source or via PoE technology. PoE is the technology that allows power to be transmitted via the network cable, making it possible to power devices without the need for power cables. But since we already have the cables, we'll keep them. The camera comes with an installation manual and an installation accessory kit containing the camera bracket, wall plugs and screws, and a power supply. Now, all you have to do is remove the old camera and install the new one... it's that simple... To replace the indoor cameras, we chose the IP DOME camera, model IP-H022-D11, also from WEG. Just like the camera we installed outside, it has Full HD resolution, is IP66 rated, and can be powered either via a power supply or by PoE technology. And just like the Bullet, the camera comes with an installation manual and an installation accessory kit containing the camera bracket, wall plugs and screws, and a power supply. Now, all you have to do is replace the 8 analog cameras we have installed inside the facility with these IP DOME cameras. And finally, to manage the images, we will replace the old DVR with this brand new WEG DVR, for 16 Full HD channels. In other words, this DVR model accepts cameras with AHD, TVI, CVI and CVBS technology, in addition to supporting up to 8TB of data storage and having a 4k HDMI output. Well, with the equipment replaced, let's test to see if everything is working, right? And to do that, we need to install the WCAM application. To do this, just go to the app store on your cell phone, whether it is iOS or Android. After the application is installed, just follow the step-by-step instructions to install the DVR and that's it... You will have all the images in the palm of your hand... Now with the updated system, we have more efficiency, better images, more storage space, since with IP cameras the images can be compressed, in other words, more recording time in less storage space. Not to mention accessing the images from anywhere, just by opening the application on your cell phone. But now I want to hear from you: What did you think of this update to our CCTV system with WEG's WCAM line? I bet some of you must be wondering, "Ok André, but what is the main difference between this WCAM line and the competition?", and I'll tell you, my dear. With WEG products, there's no such thing as no warranty, or there are some details that you, as a professional, are sick of knowing, right? And it's worth remembering that CCTV installation is a great opportunity for you to differentiate yourself from your competition and thus increase your profits. You take advantage of your own client list to offer this type of service, which sooner or later they will hire for their home!
