Window installation? You can do it yourself! You will need the right tools and assembly materials for this. Tools: SDS screwdriver, PVC hammer, assembly handle, fitting adjustment keys, spirit level, cross laser, vacuum cleaner. Assembly materials: screws, foam, functional tape, support pads, wedges, assembly anchors, expansion bolts. Once your list of necessary items is complete, follow the steps below. WINDOW INSTALLATION 00:11 - Preparing the opening Preparing the opening involves leveling the surface at the place where the structure is installed and where the functional tapes are glued. Before installation, the opening should be dusted. In the case of walls made of ceramics, e.g. Porotherm blocks, the opening should be plastered. In the case of walls made of aerated concrete or silicate, it is enough to prime the opening before installation. 01:02 - Place where the structure is mounted We measure the depth, width and height of the mounting opening. If the opening is made correctly, the installation clearance should be 1-2 cm per side (also top and bottom). Dimensions of the structure: the structure, together with the 3 cm high window sill profile, should be 2-4 cm smaller than the opening, both in width and height. 01:43 - Preparing the structure We dismantle the sash from the frame. We put it in a safe place on hard polystyrene or cardboard. We check whether the dimensions of the window and the window opening match. We check whether the window has not been damaged during transport or as a result of improper storage. 03:22 - Mounting holes in the window The window mounting holes are located in the frame. The correct spacing of holes or anchors is 15 cm from each internal corner of the structure. The distance between the mounting points cannot exceed 70 cm. If it exceeds, an additional mounting point should be used. Optionally, you can use anchors. We attach the anchor to the structure using a self-drilling screw. The anchor should be attached to the wall at two points. 03:56 - Placing the structure in the prepared hole 04:22 - Securing with load-bearing pads The structure must be supported with load-bearing pads. The pads cannot be dismantled, e.g. during subsequent construction work. Their absence may cause the frame to settle under the weight or movement of the building, which will prevent the structure from functioning properly. In the absence of permanent mechanical support, the structure may deform to such an extent that it will be impossible to adjust or glaze the sash. 04:57 - Wedging the structure After supporting and leveling the structure, we wedge it from above on the corners (on the vertical parts of the frames). This provides stability and guarantees that it will remain level. This helps us to set the plumb lines efficiently. 05:19 - Checking the plumb lines and levels 06:13 - Anchoring the frame We drill a hole in the wall, fasten it with screws or dowels at previously prepared mounting points. 13:00 - Installing the sash to the frame Before installing the sash, we vacuum the frame of dust after drilling holes. We check whether the window opens and tilts correctly. 14:18 - Foaming We fill the gaps left after installation with foam - the space between the frame and the wall. We use regular foam at temperatures from 5 to 35°C. We use winter foam at temperatures from -10 to 5°C. 16:41 - Gluing the connection between the structure and the wall We glue the functional tape to the frame and the wall, thus sealing the connection between the wall and the structure.
