This is another video in the series: “Helping those who help”. In this episode, we talk to Dr. Tati Andrade, a pediatrician and health specialist at UNICEF Brazil. UNICEF is one of the UN (United Nations) agencies whose main objective is to work to guarantee the rights of every child and adolescent, concentrating its efforts on the most vulnerable, with a special focus on those who are victims of extreme forms of violence. Operating in more than 190 countries, the organization develops different types of actions depending on the needs and situations of each location. In Brazil since 1950, UNICEF has always played an important role in combating maternal and child malnutrition and in the rights of children and adolescents. During the pandemic, UNICEF supported families and trained health professionals and teachers for the safe reopening of schools. The organization also has other programs in the health area, such as: Project to support routine immunization; Project can speak: a program to support mental health, especially for adolescents.
