Growing in a vegetable garden, not only horizontally but also vertically. Vertical elements in a vegetable garden make it more interesting to the eye. There are also other benefits of vertical cultivation of some vegetables. Pole beans are a good windbreak for vegetables that are very sensitive to gusts. Tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins and zucchini hidden behind a row of pole beans will grow and bear fruit better. Additionally, you can grow vegetables next to the beans, which will draw on the nitrogen resources stored in the roots of these legumes. It is only important to maintain a good distance so that the beans do not shade other crops. Cucumbers and pumpkins with small fruit are also grown vertically. In the episode, I show the structures I have prepared in my garden for this year's cultivation of cucurbits. I use 180 cm long bamboo poles and a jute string net. Bamboo can be replaced with hazel sticks, for example, and the net can be woven from string. I bought the jute net that I use in my garden this year on the Nelson Garden Polska website. I have also seen similar ones on Amazon and Allegro. Type in the search engine "jute net climbing plants" and you may find other stores that offer it.
