Burnout is a loss of interest in work, hobbies, relationships, and life in general. As we’ve already written, Ira didn’t enjoy almost anything. She didn’t want to do anything or communicate with anyone, and she felt no joy at all. She just felt some kind of emptiness. And if any of you are now thinking, “Oh, okay, it’s all nonsense, just get busy,” then you’re not entirely right. The WHO has recognized burnout as a disease.
