The flight takes place over the Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. The ICAO code for Las Américas Airport is MDSD and it has a 3,353 meter long runway with magnetic orientation 17/35. It is the longest runway in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. It has procedures for instrument departures and arrivals and is equipped with a VOR-DME and ILS station. This runway has the capacity to receive the large Boeing 747 and the Airbus A380.
